What Is the Saylani Ehsaas Program and How Does It Help the Needy?

Saylani Welfare International Trust, a leading non-governmental organization in Pakistan , has launched an Ehsaas program to support those in need and help them lead better lives. The government's Ehsaas program inspires it, but the Saylani Ehsaas aid program is independent of the government program. The Saylani Ehsaas program consists of three main components: Langar Khana, Panah Gah Support, and Koi Bhoka Na Soye Ga. These programs ensure that people in Pakistan are not hungry and have a place to stay and sleep.

The "Ehsaas-Saylani Langar on Wheels" program, a joint effort between Ehsaas and Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT), which transported prepared meals to those in need, with an emphasis on day laborers and other low-income individuals, in the event of a pandemic emergency. The program was launched in a busy Faizabad bus terminal when Dr. Sania Nishtar, unveiled the first Ehsaas mobile food unit. Two meals a day would be delivered to people in public slums, places, and hospitals in cities; people were asked to keep their distance from one another for their own safety. Since the pandemic posed a threat to people's ability to earn a living wage, the government's Ehsaas framework rolled out the Saylani Ehsaas aid idea to all of Pakistan's major cities to feed people with free meals.

According to Dr. Nishtar, one of the main goals of Prime Minister Imran Khan's welfare state was to ensure that the needy and deserving have access to food. The COVID-19 outbreak hit workers and others who make a living daily the hardest, and this collaboration was initiated to address that issue. As a means of reaching out to people with low incomes and informing them about how to protect themselves against the coronavirus, the meal plan was designed to meet their nutritional needs and address their hunger levels.
